Torporath

TORPORATH
The anxious toxic disaster

Torporath isn't like the rest of the kaiju, and the mecha learned that the hard way. Snowkin defends a border. Grumblor waits with purpose. Torporath doesn't do either. He panics, and when he panics, everything downwind pays for it.

No one is sure what happened to him. The toxin that seeps from every inch of his matted frame, the wide, permanently terrified eyes, the way he screams before he even sees what he's screaming at. Something in the ruins south of the Hollow City did this to him, warped him into something that reacts to threats it can't always name. He doesn't hunt. He doesn't strategize. He flails, and drips, and wherever he goes, the ground stops being safe to stand on for a long time after.

That's what makes him dangerous to the guardians in a way the disciplined kaiju aren't. Valkyron can read a calculated enemy. Ironkai can hold a line against something patient. Nobody can predict Torporath, because Torporath can't predict himself. A patrol that corners him doesn't get a fight, it gets a catastrophe, and the toxic wreckage he leaves behind is sometimes worse than anything the deliberate kaiju do on purpose. The guardians don't fight him head-on if they can help it. They just try to clear a path and let the disaster move through.
